Juxtaposition Arts is a non-profit youth focused visual arts organization engaging audiences through its community collaborations, studio arts workshops, public mural programs and special festivals and art exhibitions. Two visual artists founded the organization in 1995 as a means to engage artistically inclined urban youth in high quality creative experiences in ways that are practical, relevant, and life changing.

In-studio and sidewalk artmaking that includes live mural painting, customized backpacks and hats.

FLOW is a celebration of all that is great on the Northside…the talent and aspirations of our young people, the wisdom and insight of our elders, the beauty and depth that comes from our artists, the rhythm and vibrancy of our music…and the power of transformation that is underway in our community. The third annual FLOW: Northside ArtsCrawl on Saturday, July 26th from 4pm to 9pm continues to grow as it adds new sites and artists in 2008.  Businesses, art spaces, and organizations, primarily along W. Broadway, will open their doors to the community and feature Northside youth and adult artistic talent in visual and performing art.  Hundreds of Northside artists, dozens of art partners, and businesses will all be highlighted at 30 locations as FLOW solidifies its image as a high-quality community art event in North Minneapolis.

Don’t miss this super cool urban art showcase! An inspiring and exuberant evening including music by DJ Stage 1, hands on art activity with aerosol artist Eli Esters, real time youth mural painting led by Daniel Chen, an artist led mural tour, as well as an exhibit and auction of artworks by Juxtaposition artists hosted by Tish Jones, Minnesota’s hottest poet actor spoken word artist. Event catered by Big Bowl!
